Our Story
The establishment of Passamaquoddy Lodge was made possible through the visionary efforts of the Kiwanis Club of Saint Andrews, alongside generous contributions from the Sir James Dunn Foundation, The Seaside Lodge of the Knights of Pythias, and numerous other benefactors. The land was acquired at a nominal cost, courtesy of Mr. & Mrs. Murray Vaughan.
On January 18, 1973, the inaugural Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors and Members convened at the Saint Andrews Town Hall. The cornerstone was ceremoniously laid by Captain Ranby Wren on July 27, 1973, marking the beginning of a new era. The Lodge welcomed its first resident, the centenarian Miss Georgie Carson, on December 3, 1973.
Now a 60-bed licensed facility, Passamaquoddy Lodge Inc. stands as a testament to the enduring support and solidarity of our community.
